The Hurricanes are the 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 DII Women's champions of the Carolinas Geographic Rugby Union. We primarily play teams in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia, while participating in multiple 15's and 7's tournaments throughout the year. We welcome all players regardless of experience or age. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or you’ve never seen a match, there’s a place for you on this team.

This season we finished number one and traveled to New Orleans, LA to participate in the Gulf Coast Super Regionals. The top 16 teams in the country competed to determine who moves onto the championship weekend, two weeks later. Our season came to a close after a hard fought but lost battle against Knoxville Minx. We look forward to picking up where we left off in the CGRU during our Fall 2025 season.

 

We are proud to be part of the IGR (International Gay Rugby) and were the first standalone female club to join. The IGR's mission is to eliminate discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation or identification and to promote good health through the playing of rugby. Today we welcome and encourage those from any and all backgrounds to join us.
